Greetings-

I am proud to have family roots that extend to the city of Prentiss, Mississippi. As I am on a personal journey to discover more about those family roots, it has been a blessing to discover the weblink to an organization that supports public pride for this beloved community.

To all those who have had involvment with the creation of this site, BLESS YOU and Bravo Zulu for a Job Well Done...

I just wanted to write and express my appreciation for your wonderful website. I do genealogy research and found that my ancestors the Pannell's and Jumpers lived around Dry Creek and Jumpertown, MS. Many of my ancestors rest in the Jumpertown cemetery. I look forward to reading all the news about Printess co. Keep up the good work and thanks again. E-mail address: [email protected]

How wonderful to find this site! I was born in Prentiss and still have a lot of family in the area. My mother was Betty McNease of Prentiss, and my father was Joe Langston of Oakvale. Hello to all of my McNease, Dearman, and Shows cousins. I live in Baton Rouge now and last visited Prentiss this past summer. Still a lovely area, with many fond memories.

Dear Sir, Your town represents to me what everyday life was like in America before 1968. I think that year was the turning point in our country. I've had the pleasure of visiting throughout Mississippi many times but never visited Prentiss. I did enjoy the pictures of the lake. I would love to see real estate listings since I'm a realtor in CT. My best to your town. Sincerely Richard

I think this site is very useful and as soon as Prentiss High School gets the internet connected to my classroom, I intend to allow my students to use it to find out more about Jefferson Davis County.

My mother was Susie Virginia Powell Burrow, born 3/20/1897 near Prentiss at Silver Creek. There were 12 children in all. Some of my cousins still live there, Bassfield, Prentiss and all over southern Mississippi. I hope to come visit someday - I was there in the 40s!! I'm sure its changed. I'm also into Genealogy and always searching for my ancestors.
